PARKINSON’S DISEASE EXERCISE PROGRAMS

Exercise will make your life better!

It’s not easy facing the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Exercise is essential for the images_PD Brochure 1well-being of individuals who have PD: recent research shows that exercise not only benefits your physical and psychological health but may actually slow, halt or even reverse the progression of Parkinson’s disease. The earlier that exercise is begun after diagnosis, the better the results.

Parkinson’s specific exercises address common symptoms of PD such as gait problems, rigidity/stiffness, tremors, freezing posture, balance, depression, stress, and falls. Flexibility and mobility will improve. Regular exercise provides a sense of accomplishment and an increased confidence in the ability to perform daily activities that may otherwise present a problem to those with PD. Simply put, targeted, PD- specific exercise will improve your quality of life!

Our Classes

foreverfitness PD programs are designed to bring the latest and best research regarding images_PD Brochure 4bParkinson’s and exercise to our community through group classes and custom personal fitness training. We emphasize the importance of early intervention and continuous access to research-based exercise approaches that target the unique physical, emotional and cognitive challenges for individuals living with PD.

Our classes are designed for those who have minimal to moderate levels of disease severity.

We format our programs carefully to:

* Target PD-specific movement deficits

* Improve function

* Improve mood

* Improve quality of life

* Reduce risk of falls
